Does anyone have an idea of when Kel Tec may post the manual for the KS7 on their KS7 webpage?

Since the page is up on their site, you"d hope it would be there soon. But, who knows?

For what it's worth, I created a ticket on the Kel-Tec website and asked when they might get the KS7 manual posted on their website. I'll let you know if I get a reply.

I was going to suggest that.

Thank you, Huy Tran. Actually, if you can scan it in Adobe Reader and make a pdf it may be easier to do. That way you will be able to email a copy to others. That's what did with my RDB manual. I'll know next week (maybe) if I can get my own copy of the manual (with a KS7).

I took a close look at the exploded views of the kS7 and the parts list. There are three types of part prefixes on both lists. First is "KS7" which, I believe, are parts specific to the KS7. Second is "KSG" which are parts that fit BOTH the KS7 and the KSG (like the "KSG-380, Butt Pad"). Third is "FAS" which appears to be different types of fasteners. This means you can use the parts list and exploded views to determine which KSG parts will work with the KS7.

I was surprised to see how many shared components there are between the KSG and KS7, but it makes perfect sense from a manufacturing standpoint. It looks like the barrel nut is unique to the KS7. It "looks" like a standard nut, albeit a bit rounded. Now I just have to figure out how to remove it so I can add a muzzle brake.

I called Hi-Tech a while ago and I was told that Hi-Tech will be making a barrel nut for the KS7 when they can get a KS7 to view. Right now, there is none on their website.

I'm pretty sure I can get it off with a socket and a driver of some sort. I'll have to check tonight.

I reached out to Kel-Tec about whether the KS7 would take the same muzzle brakes as the KSG. They responded back that they hadn't tried, but thought the magazine nut would block access. Guess I'll find that out tonight too, since I have a Hi-Tech Howitzer70 brake that I just bought to use on the KS7.

After removing the mag cap and sight/carry handle I used a vice with protection and an adjustable wrench on the nut because the peaks form flats. I heated it up and with a heat gun and it came right off didn't notice any loctite thou. I used a Carlson Comp Enforcer Breacher and a shim (would not thread all the way down and for alignment) tighten it down and marked the clearance path for the cap then I ground and filed off enough to kind of match the nut that came off and the cut-out on the breacher.

FWIW, on my KSG, I preferred shooting with the Enforcer set up with a "X" port config, as compared to a "+" port config. Mine required custom fitting for both.

Thanks for posting this. I'd thought about using an adjustable wrench, but didn't want to risk buggering up the barrel nut if I couldn't get it off.

I reached out to Kel Tec and they are working on getting me a tool to remove the nut.

My only concern now is whether my Howitzer70 brake will fit. The clearance between the magazine cap and the barrel nut are really close. Too close. I'm afraid I'm going to have to grind a bit off the brake to get it to fit correctly and there's not much meat to work with.
