Two Stage Trigger?

I assume most of the trigger work done on Gen I S2Ks it to smooth up the trigger, making it feel like a true double action.

Has anyone gone the other way and taken advantage of the already stagey trigger and created a more definitive stop, right before sear release?

The Sub has a single action trigger. Not much you can do with the trigger anyway.

Actually, it is two stage. Similar to an sks trigger. The trigger bar is the first stage, and the sear is the second. If you are handy you can make a smooth and consistent trigger out of it. I did mine and it is amazing, it doesn't take much modifying. In fact it's really more difficult to reassemble the rifle than anything else. All you need are some files, an assortment of fine sand paper, and about an hour or so to cuss at it while you reassemble.

Welcome to the KelTec forum. We are aware of the trigger type and mods for it. On the home page for this sub-forum (Sub2K), there is a pinned post for info on this weapon. It is a "Sticky" titled F.A.Q. One of the chapters there details trigger mods, with diagrams, pictures, and tool/material requirements.

Couple things to consider on a home smith trigger job. First a lot of guns have been rendered junk by home "pro's. Second a target rifle trigger is not needed or really desirable on all guns. A gun with a hair trigger modified by a home smith is an ambulance chasers wet dream.
We all have our priorities. Proceed with knowledge and proper caution,it's a firearm not a blender.

Well. It seems as if everyone is a expert.

I'm no expert. But one of the reasons I posted the downloadable instructions on how to do it in the FAQ is we have had at least 2 homesmithers in the last 10 years do what they thought would work and theirs became full auto only Subs. Bad ju-ju. I figured instructions from a man who had done it correctly might be helpful.

LOL. I with you I'm no expert. I'm always open to learning new things but you have to be careful who you learn from. Just saying.
