I saw this yesterday and sure enough my relatively new sub2000 and 2 belonging to friends have bad barrels (both .40 and 9mm). I replied yesterday through their website and they indicated a fedex label would be forthcoming via email. Anyone got their label yet? I figured it would show up pretty quick.
Anyone got their return label under this recall yet?

Nope - elected the email option. I am figuring they are formulating a plan to get them in and back out efficiently.

Yes, I want it moving there, turned around, and back in my hands by yesterday. But I'm ok if they get my new barrel in hand before adding my rifle to the pile of fixers.

850sub they are installing MCarbo parts for you for a fee on the Sub 2000
That's if you send your Sub in to have Kel Tec install the parts. It should not apply to the recall if you're sending in a Sub that already has the parts installed. Many folks have sent their Subs in for warranty work that had aftermarket parts and Kel Tec has put them back in after performing the warranty service.

My wife's Sub is on the recall list and has almost every aftermarket MCARBO part they sell. No way am I removing all of that to send it in to Kel Tec for a problem of their own doing.

Mines on the list too.

Just picked it up before Christmas, only got to shoot it two weeks ago. Put 2 boxs through it, almost 100rds. Was more accurate then I expected, and also kicked harder then I expected for a 9mm. Not too hard for me, but I'll probably never get the wife to shoot it, which is who I bought it for, and why I got a 9 over the 40. She's pretty sensitive to the kick. So it'll be my toy, win/win.

I hate recalls. One of my Winchester rifles had to go in for a recall. Was supposed to be gone 2-3 weeks. Got it back in just over 1 week, no problems, even got a free rifle case out of the deal, but hated every bit of it. I trust the mail service(usps, ups, FedEx..you choose the brand) about as much as I trust our politicians.

Glad I haven't installed any of the new parts I got for it.

I doubt any recall FedEx labels will be sent until sufficient replacement barrels are in stock. Kel Tec knows the number involved.

Then expect them to go out in workable batches. From a manufacturing point of view this is a good practice and keeps the recalls from clogging up their facility. SIG did this with the P320 recall and was able to turn each batch around pretty quickly.

I've seen no source for a list of serials recalled. The website lets one enter a serial to see if it's affected. Mine is not but I'm curious the manufacturing date range of the carbines recalled.

The link to the list of all serial numbers recalled is on the same keltec website page where you enter your serial number to see if it's affected.

Thanks. Gotta clean my PC screen! :)

Mine is in the FND-sequence and not recalled.

Any clues to the code in the serial numbers? Mine is 9mm and uses Beretta M9 magazines (although I doubt the magazine matters to the barrel.)

This is good and it simultaneously SUCKS! See, now that I've been given notice that my barrel may be compromised, I cannot shoot the Sub2k in good conscience. If it blows up in my face and injures me because I choose to keep shooting a rifle I know has been recalled - I'm the dummy. So, currently, my Subby sits here, packed and ready for a shipping label from Kel Tec (wait at 1 week and counting). Every day it sits here is another day it isn't fixed and on its way back.

I've been hard charging on my build because I want it in service before my cross country trip in June. Now that it is just plain out of service, I'd feel better if Kel Tec had to listen to her begging to do the job she's being groomed to handle. Her whining and crying is downright intolerable.

I'm actually wondering how well this "staging" worked out for Sig. I suppose they had it a little easier 'cause the gun was still safe unless it was dropped - I wouldn't have a problem handling it extra delicately so it didn't get slammed to the ground. But, with the potential of a catastrophic barrel failure ... the rifle is plainly, simply out-of-service until Kel Tec gets it turned around.

I absolutely appreciate Kel Tec's disclosure, but I was having a blast with her before I knew she was potentially dangerous to me. I would appreciate additional disclosure of a timetable. At some point I will need to start making alternative plans for my June roadtrip if she's not going to be up and running again by mid May.

How did you box it up. I'm looking for ideas to keep mine safe and secure when FedEx starts tossing it around, stepping on it, dropping it, etc. any ideas on the best way to box these rifles up.

And I agree, some info on when they plan to send us shipping labels would be nice.

Took me forever to find mine, and now I can't even shoot.

Factory box - I keep'm all. To be fair, I will drop the kel tec box inside an amazon box to conceal the contents from the carriers.

Ok ... got my shipping label via email today. The Subby is on its way to the mothership.

Some notes regarding shipping:

The email indicates you have a choice. You don't. Print the label and carry it to a Fedex Shipping Center. The "Shipping Centers" do not have the capacity to scan the barcode and print the label as the email instructions suggest. The copy/print/ship locations can scan the barcode, but they are not supposed to take firearms through those locations. Kel Tec listed contents as machine parts, so you will probably get away with using the copy/print/ship locations if you like living dangerously.

I'm happy to be in-progress.

Mine is on the list of those being recalled I asked support how long it will take to get the emailed shipping label, what the turnaround time will be, and if it will have to come back via an FFL. This is their response:

"We understand your frustration and are very sorry. Each shipping label is done manually; unfortunately there is a process that generates each one; due to the high volume of emails there will be delays. With that said please be patient as we are working around the clock trying to get to everyone in a timely manner.

"If the information you provided was your physical address then yes, it will go back to you via FedEx adult signature required. We hope to get the labels sent out ASAP.

" As far as turnaround time once your rifle is received we are trying to get them in and out with maybe a 1-2 week turnaround. Thanks for contacting Kel-Tec Customer Service! Let us know if you need anything else; we’re always here to help!"

The email from them said that if you don’t have an appropriate size flat box to email them, and the will send you one. They sent me a factory box inside a plain brown box.

I’m sending it the back the same way. I put it in the factory box, then in the plain box.

I requested the label and box on the 28th. The label came two days ago in my inbox, and the box was delivered today.

It’s boxed and ready to go, but I’m going to wait to ship it. I will be out of town on the 16th-19th, and again the 23rd-28th. I don’t want it to be shipped back and delivered while I’m away. I will probably ship it between the two trips.

What was the email address that the shipping label came from? Kel-Tec? Haven't recieved mine, want to make sure it didn't get pushed to the junk file.

Yeah, I keep mine, but didn't think it was sturdy enough to protect the rifle through the mail. I guess I'll request a box from them.
