The fun continues with my KS7. I removed the carry handle and put a Hi-Tech Customs picatinny rail on. I bought a Vortex Venom red dot but it's way too low and cannot see the dot. I just now ordered a Vortex QR riser mount. Has anyone ran this set up? Is it too low still to see the red dot? Thanks in advance.

Honestly the same, the Venom is just too small.

I ended up getting a Pinty which is only $30 bloomin' dollars in exchange for no options like shake-wakeup, but it's surprisingly large glass so it's high enough I'm comfortable getting a sight-line on it. I run it all the way forward 'scout rifle' style so I can keep both eyes open myself.

Oh it was 100% something I took a chance on since it was literally cheaper than a pizza delivery, but I've been shocked how well it works and how well built it is. Same manufacturer that makes the Dagger Defense reflex sights and others just selling direct and without any laser etching or cerakoted colors.

So far it's held up through over 300 rounds including taking it through home-defense training class drills at a local teaching facility and it's held true and had zero issues so far.

Took about two weeks for PlanetOptics to ship out my order, which finally came in today. Decided to go with Sight Mark Ultra Shot Plus Limited Edition Red/green dot. Comes in a Tornado Grey and picatinny rail mounted on the side.

Today I picked up the gun finally and I tried to get use to the carry handle sights first. But, I just couldn't get comfortable. So this evening I swapped everything over and wow, what a difference! Its so much easier to get on target, eye to cheek weld is great, i'm not gouging my face into the gun.
