Save the Venom for a range pistol ( I have one on my Q5) and put a Sig Romeo 5 on your KSG. It's much better suited to a shotgun and comes on a riser. And it's shake awake. They sell everywhere for $140, but I got mine for $108.

Honestly the same, the Venom is just too small.

I ended up getting a Pinty which is only $30 bloomin' dollars in exchange for no options like shake-wakeup, but it's surprisingly large glass so it's high enough I'm comfortable getting a sight-line on it. I run it all the way forward 'scout rifle' style so I can keep both eyes open myself.

Mine is about midway ( KSG25) and co-witnesses perfect with the flip ups. I also shoot with both eyes open. Everything other than a scoped rifle.

That's the same one I got. I bought mine from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. $109.99. Use a little blue Loc-tite on the threads of the screw that attaches it to your rail. It was easy to zero and I have punished it with slugs, 00B, 3" turkey loads and everything else I could throw at it. Few hundred rounds at least and yesterday I put about 8 slugs in a row into a 2" circle at 20 yards.

Yeah that's pretty high, but I still think you'd be hard pressed to find a better, more suited red dot for your gun for that price.

FWIW these red dots typically sell for about $140 so if you look at it like that you didn't get hurt too bad. And like I said, you'll really like it.

Can't help you there. I wouldn't necessarily mind having one, but I don't want it enough to pay much for it. I'm sure it will sell though since they are now discontinued.

...geez, I know the higher end red dot's have some nice features but I'll stick to my manual-power-switch Pinty that only cost $30 for now.

Brother, $110, even $160 is NOT a higher end red dot. $30 red dots are for airsoft guns. I'm glad yours works fine. I hope it does when you really, REALLY need it to.
