Alternative front sight for threaded barrel

Anyone have any ideas on a replacement front sight to use with the SUB2000 which has had the barrel threaded?

I want to be able to still keep the folding/locking feature.

Most of the alternative front sights I have seen go right up to the end of the barrel therefore the threading would be covered and this defeats the purpose.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm afraid you may be asking to much of the little guy. Is it possible you could mount a short rail on the suppressor - I am assuming this is the reason for the threads - and put an AR BUIS front sight on that? At any rate if you want it to lock folded you're looking at doing some work on whatever sight you use.

BTW, I am now using a Hi Point front sight which I modified so that the threaded barrel and suppressor can be used, also modified the sight so when I fold the rifle it loosely holds like the original sight.

Only problem is that the Hi Point sight is tightened on the bottom by two screws and over time it works itself a bit loose and therefore the windage will be off.

Any ideas on how to better secure it?

Thanks

Put a couple drops of Blue Loc-tite between the barrel and the front sight so it kind of glues itself to the barrel when you tighten it.

I used the tactical one that has a screw for adjusting the height. I had to dremel the body and also made an indent for the stock to hold…works pretty good but not as tight as the original but better than not having anything at all.

The part I don't like about this sight is the way it locks down…I may grind a flat surface on the barrel just enough so the lock down screws are biting on a flat surface and not a rounded barrel. Lock tite down after doing this as the lock tite doesn't seem to hold as well on the rounded barrel no matter how hard I tighten.

Hope this helps
