Hey everyone, I've always liked the classic look of wooden rifles, and have thought about purchasing a mini 14, but had this idea. Do you think it would be possible to cerakote the back of the sport stock and the foregrip with a wooden cerakote pattern and make it look a little more classic? I found that the Saiga with wood might be a good pattern to follow, though something more like the M1A would be best.

Maybe what you could do instead is actually make it out of wood. Food is a pretty cool material to work with. I am pretty certain it could be done.

I do not think you could make the forestock out of wood and have it be a bipod.

Also the trigger mechanism might be tricky. Maybe it could be done in sheet metal.
IN fact while you are at it you could redo the upper in sheet metal too.

Pretty soon following this plan and a lot of time you might be able to make a working AK out of it.
