For me anyway, I prefer rear pocket over the front, for 1 main reason...

Access while seated and buckled in, driving in a vehicle.

Left side driving, right side if passenger due to the seat belt buckle location.

Since I always drive, it's always on the left.

What do you think?

Also I shoot mostly left handed.
Due to an on the job injury almost 5 years ago, I lost about 40% use of my right arm and hand.
So I had a decision to make there, either learn southpaw, or give up shooting handguns.

Well after about a year and a lot of work, I found out that I actually shot better lefty than I did righty, go figure. :
Maybe cause I really had to concentrate on the basics.

I figure that you should at least try (weak hand) a mag or two each session.
Which I now try to do with my right hand.


So next question...,

How often do you practice your weak hand skills?

When I'm on my motorcycle I carry in a front velcro pocket in my Nemesis or an inside vest pocket with the Nemesis.

in my Gandfartheroak. With winter coming { Long

pants } Im starting to carry it on my ankle with

my K.L Null ankle holster. When I m in a car I can

get my gun out faster with my ankle holster then

any other holster.

Backs up P-11/40 on right side IWB 1:30 o'clock, using a right side clip.
Bolstered by a SW 340PD 357 magnum in left inside jacket pocket in a pocket holster, when wearing a jacket.
Always mindful of the trigger and the whereabouts of the femoral artery when inserting and removing KTs IWB.
(Just a note - I know two people that have shot themselves carrying this way with 1911's. Seems the safety can be moved while walking around. Both survived. )
Whether sitting or standing, seat belted or not, at least one is always reachable ;D

In cool weather my AT is in a stellerrigs vertical neck holster available to either hand. It backs up a Kahr PM9 IWB or P45 IWB soon the be in KDholsters leather.

I always shoot at least 30% of my practice shots with my weak hand. I have had my strong hand or arm temporarily disabled several times over the years. On several occasions I believe that my demonstrated ability to shoot well with my weak hand prevented some people from making a move on me. I consider this very important.
