Yes, and this forum also needs an "ignore" function. I think alot of the recent problems that we had could've been avoided if there was an ignore button.

I don't mind the lack of the modify function I can use a combo of word processor and the preview button and bingo, I have the post I wanted.

Editing isn't just to correct spelling / typos (although I used it that way a lot). More importantly, it is a way to add or correct info without stringing posts from here to there. Expect it will return? :)

Agree. It's not the spelling - couldn't care less about that ordinarily. Has to do with the content, accuracy, changes/deletions.

A recently banned member's deleting of offensive posts before the Administrator could see them is the reason the feature was disabled. With him gone now maybe we'll get the feature back.

I sure hope we can modify posts again soon too! I can not keep my 'Trading Post' listing updated.

And here I thought he was giving me a fun but hard time. Yeah, I click on modify but it says the function is not operating at the present time.

Itsawhatever, I wasn't being serious. Thanks (really). :)

Re: When are we going to be able to modify our pos

I started to write an "ignore" feature as suggested by
JimmyD, but this script is no longer being distributed,
so few sites would be able to make use of it if I did
write it. I didn't think it was worth the time and effort
of writing just for this site. Not when I'm as busy as
    I currently am at work.

I'm pondering whether or not to re-enable the modify.
I'm hoping that the recent removal of a certain member
will allow the tone of the forum to improve so that
we don't need to worry about people misusing the
modify feature and then I can re-enable it.

I would ask that it be re-enabled.  It would save some bandwith, too, by not requiring folks to post a follow-on in order to correct or change their previous post.

Kevin, by the way, where is my new holster?

You see if I could have modified my post, I wouldn't have had to post again. :)

Personally, I've never seen any BUT him abuse the feature in that way. I think we're safe now. 8)
