I am trying to select a defensive round in .380 and would like to know what everyone uses. I was about to order the Magtech First Defense when I read the post here where it was found to not expand as expected. My current favorite (from my research) would be the DPX, but it is also the most expensive and very hard to find right now. Can anyone comment on how a 'smiley' affects a solid copper bullet vs. a traditional jacketed lead hollow point? I am afraid that the 'smiley' problem would be very bad for the Hornady Critical Defense with its softer nose; has anyone tried it? Please post with any observations, comments, or recommendations you may have!
