Can someone please tell me what the height of this Gap is?? PLEASE?

From the top of the rail to the tube. Thanks!
Im very curious to know why a Larue mount wouldnt work? Even if i have to have my gunsmith machine off a bit of the top surface metal, it appears there still should be plenty of meat left on the bone.

New to the forum, my sub2k gen2 9mm should be coming from the factory sooooooooon.

I just stacked some feeler gauges together til I had a snug fit in between the bolt tube and the rail. Measured that with a dial caliper and got right at 0.115" So just a bit less than 1/8" and that would be the max thickness.

Wait, is that a flashlight mount? Oh wait. Thanks H2OMan, I see it is an aimpoint 3x magnifier mount. Won't work with my 30mm red dot. :-(
Several companies have offered flip-over magnifier mounts. several users have attempted to use them on their primary sights. I haven't seen anybody make one work accurately that way. They might be okay for very close work.

If Larue gives the OK , that it will hold zero, it's good enough for me. Yes some companies flip mounts might not return to zero, but i cant see them putting out a shifty product.
Calling them on Monday.

Larue makes good quality components, but there is a world of difference in a magnifier mount and one made for optics. I think Larue will tell you that.

You are 100% correct sir.
Well, it was a good idea, they just dont recommend it, the lockup is not solid.
To Bad.
Check out all of the aftermarket products and the home brewed setups that have been tried over the years in the Sticky at the top of this Sub Forum. You may find something there.
