As lop already mentioned, don't neglect to check out the Rossi 1892. After handling both the Marlin and the Rossi, I chose the Rossi over the Marlin. The newer Marlins ("Remlins") are not what they used to be. But if you can find an older used Marlin levergun, that would be good.I need a Marlin 1984C 357/38...
It's really no different than (most) all of the reloading manuals having different sections specifically for Ruger and Thompson handguns. In those sections they specify hotter loads because the Ruger and Thompson actions can take it.Ok, I've got a safety problem with that.
Be sure and handle one of these Mossbergs before you buy one sight unseen online from Bud's or something. You might have another R51 moment with it. I did. I really really wanted the Mossberg "Patrol Rifle" (this one is in their MVP series). I liked the idea of it being a bolt action that takes standard AR mags. I finally found one in a store and handled it. That Mossberg was my "R51 moment". Set it right down, and bought a Howa 1500 instead. Maybe we can hope that all the MVP rifles are not like that Patrol Rifle I handled.1. Mossberg MVP in 5.56/.223
These are probably the same mall ninjas who claim to take out prairie dogs at 1000+ yards "all day long".Thanks to all of the people on the internet who have never actually shot a .30-30 in real life I am convinced it has the trajectory of a well hit softball!!
Is that new or used? If new, what a fantastic price! My son just bought a Shield. I had shot them before, but after extensively shooting his new one, yep, I agree that this is one of the best defensive carry pistols around. Small enough to conceal well, functionally perfect, and not expensive.A S&W M&P9 shield just dropped into my lap for $289. I HAD to do it.![]()
