I wanted you all to know how I made out with my gun. A couple months ago I sent it back for the peening issue. It took about 1 month to get it back. They replaced the slide and the barrel and polished the feed ramp. I've used it every few days since. Using various types of ammo including alum. blazers it has been flawless. Not one to fix something that is not broken, so I'm not going to do any additional flufing or buffing. Some of the surfaces have noticable machine marks but as long as it keeps working, they should continue to smooth themself out as the gun breaks in. Probably about 200 rd. so far.
Thanks again for all the information I've learned here.

Glad everything is working out for your new slide now. As the gun wears after many shots you will notice it becoming much smoother in lots of different places. My advice: shoot the crap out of it!
