Posted 3 times this morning and have received "untrapped error"  messages each time.  All postings went through.  Just letting you know.

edit:  did again:  copied what it said.

    Untrapped Error:
Undefined subroutine &main::strlen called at ./Sources/Post.pl line 1817.

edit again: My post count isn't updating either. Not a big deal though

We're on it. Thanks for the heads up. May take a couple days to figure out. :)

Until this is resolved, let me be clear...

When you hit the post button...

And you get this error message...\

    ...

DO NOT HIT THE POST BUTTON AGAIN!

    Your reply has posted.

Simply click away and go back to the forum where you posted.

    You will see your post.

    THANKS!
    :)

Would this also be causing my post count not to increase?

    Looks like it.

My "last post" was at 3:04 pm yesterday, despite several posts since then.

As a newbe this has been quite confusing.  I am happy to have found this post.  Now I understand.  I thought I was doing something wrong.

It probably would have, but also note that due to some problems related to people not reading the
rules, it's set to be a little picky about increasing your post count until you reach 25 posts.

Especially in your first 25 posts, try to make them useful if you want them to count.
For example, when asking questions ask "good questions" as described here:
    https://www.bettercgi.com/gpl/smart-questions.html

If you ask a specific question after doing due diligence, like using the search feature to see if
the answer is already posted, you post will probably count. If you just post "is the P-11 good"
it probably won't count toward your first 25 posts.

It's attempting to NOT allow people to do the "how to get banned in 7 minutes or less" as decribed
    in the rules:

    http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=501

I like the new "Hey, (name), you have 8 messages" at the top of the page. Maybe new members (and old) will see it better. Are there any other changes?

Does my post count go up if I participate in a post or answer questions or leave comments in a post? Or do I actually have to start a post?

meaningful posts are likely to count, regardless of whether or not you have started the thread.

I like that too. The only thing I could think of that might make it more obvious, would be if it could be placed just above the Google search box.

    Nice updates guys!

Yes, the hope is that new members will notice they have a PM. That Welcome PM contains links to the Forum Rules, Welcome Wagon thread, etc... ;)
