Is it just me or is the buffer tube now the registered firearm? I cant remember but I thought my old Gen1 had the serial embedded in the frame of the receiver?

Yup...I just posted about that in another thread. Something to do with ease of assembly, they made the "receiver tube" into the "legal" receiver.

Sweet. I'm not crazy. So you could get replacement grips without worry about serialized part.
