Hi guys! I'm new here! Just bought my dream gun!

It came with a 17 round PMAG... which would be great, but it won't drop free when empty. I hit the mag release (yes, the mag is all the way in with the audible click) and nothing happens. I have to hold the mag release and manually pull the magazine out. When I load the magazine, the magazine drops fine.

Is this part of normal break-in period? I have yet to fire the gun.

Normal.

At the store, the first gun was like that, so I asked for the second gun and it also did that.
Glock Mags do not have this issue and after some shooting, the PMag falls on its own now.

Often a normal break-in minor glitch. If it doesn't resolve itself, just put some very fine grit self-stick abrasive paper on the side of the magazine that the mag release button is on (the internal catch will be on the other side and you don't want to sand on it). Run the mag in and out until it frees up.

Some pmags wouldn't even lock in place when I got mine but after a while they stared breaking in.

Gun ran great! Shot a mix of cheap steel cased ammo and white box. I love this gun! It's gotta fun kick to it too. Love it!

I shoot steel in everything I own. Most manuals say not to shoot it. My Panasonic TV remote says to only use Panasonic brand batteries too. I'll assume the risk.

Gen2 manual doesn't mention specific ammo casing preference.
