Hi everyone. I am trying to see if anyone else had this problem with their KSG and if they knew how to fix it. I bought mine 2nd hand for 650, but had the original bill of sale with it. When I opened it up to clean it, it looked like it had never been fired. My problem came when I went to load it and cycle ammo through it without firing, just using the pump release. I can rack this thing like Harambe the gorrilla and no dice. I can manually press down the magazine catch and the shell will drop to the lifter. But no matter how I rack it I can't get a shell to release from either mag tube without sticking my finger in there and manually hitting the spring. Extractor out of the chamber works perfectly. But this is causing frustrations. Added to the fact that because it's 2nd hand, KelTec no longer covers it under warranty even though the manufacture date is from March 2016. Any suggestions on how I can fix this myself or am I going to have to find a gunsmith who works on KSGs?

Neither tube will feed? Is there some issue with the tube selector lever, loose. Are you racking the slide that last 1/4". It can fool you, it may feel like you racked it all the way but that last bit is were a lot of the action takes place and it takes conscious effort to do it properly at first. MAKE SURE THE GUN IS UNLOADED:D turn it upside down and observe the action as you rack the slide. It will help you understand the quirkiness of the action. You should observe how that last hard bit of travel releases the shell from the tube allowing the a fresh round to fed into the chamber.
Other than that I don't know.

Have you tried taking it apart and putting it back together again?

I purchased mine new and the first time I took it apart for cleaning I kind of forced things back together and I couldn't cycle things properly.

I then did it again while watching a YouTube walk-through and there were no problems.

Not sure what I did originally to cause the problem but the gun has been flawless since then.

I haven't taken ths front screws off to take apart the barrel. Only a field strip. I will try to do one better than pictures, and try to get Youtube video with snap caps loaded in for a demonstration of my problem. I didn't want to take it apart further because honestly I am not familiar enough with the KSG to know of a missing piece. It may be a couple days before I can get the video up, but I greatly appreciate any and all help and suggestions.

Had this issue

If there are fore end accessories, make sure they don't limit the travel of the pump action.
I put a Hi Tech bottom rail on mine before ever firing it.. I placed the rail to near the trigger end... This wouldn't allow the gun to cycle correctly.

If you have any attachments on the bottom rail- I would look closely and possibly remove them altogether and see if that fixes issues.

Just a place to start.

Edit- Also I used some Sea Foam Deep Clean for the racking components and it has worked miracles.. It had that one tough spot when racking- most know what I am referring... That rough spot is now gone- it is a smooth rack...
