Got this gun off a couple that came into the gunshow with this gun and a .300 Win Mag Winchester Model 70. They wanted 4 for the Savage and 6 for the Winny. Told them I couldn't come close onthe Winchester and I would only give 2 for the Savage. The guy said he would do 3 on the Sav. Told him there were alot of them out at the pawn shops for that much. Wally World had new Remington 700 package guns down the road for 377 and the Saveages for @ 40 less with a full warranty. He wnt down to 275, no less.

Told him I would do 225 cause the gun was like new with a Simmons 3X9X32 on it. Wife git ubti it then. She said it was her gun and she had it for 15 years. It had been fired less than 10 times and she had killed only one deer with it. If I wanted it, I had to give 250 or forget it. The husband was kinda pizzed about that, cause I told her I could do that. She said she had bills to pay and needed the $ right now. She had not fired the gun in 5 years.

The rifle is one of those calibers that kills on both ends. I had a couple befoer and like to remind myself of what real recoil feels like. Fired the gun at 25 yards and it was o.k. for windage, but like 3 inches high for 25 yard zero. I made the needed adjustments to the elevation and will shoot is some at 100 yards later this week.

Again, if anyone would like to print my pic for me, please feel free to do it.

I have a Weatherby in .300 Win mag, it is pretty brutal if you are not ready for the recoil. Never shot a 7mm mag, but I would imagine it is similar.

Also, I enjoy your wheeling and dealing style at the shows...along with the stories. :D
