Well I wasn't going to close the voting quite so soon,
but one of the two people who each had about 1/3 of the
vote each has removed his name from consideration
because he believes that he is "way to opinionated"
to be a very effective moderator. Wilson has said that
"if nominated, I will not run, if elected I will not serve".
The results of the first round are below, you can see
how removing Wilson will definitely have a major impact
so I went ahead and closed the old one and started a
    new poll.

    TxCajun 74 (36.6%)
    Wilson 64 (31.6%)
    CB3 15 (7.4%)
    Bob110011 12 (5.9%)
    Rick Blaine 11 (5.4%)
    UTRay 8 (3.9%)
    Mod_man 7 (3.4%)
    Boris the Blade 7 (3.4%)
    Carmike 4 (1.9%)

Wilson! Where would we be if Travis, Bowie, Crockett and old Sam Houston would have felt that way about being called to serve. I'll tell you where... We'd be speaking Spanish and eating Mexican food. Wait a minute, we are.

Por que' no quiere usted ser un moderador? Quien tiene interes opiniones? Remeber el Alamo! Ah bien, vayamos come los tacos... ;D

The only thing Wilson is overly opinionated about is those pinky rests he likes so much. He would have been a good choice. Rick

Draw a line in the sand with an NAA grip extender ala William Barrett Travis and ask Wilson to step over it. He'll have no choice but to serve.

Thanks for participating in the selection of the new moderator.
As the results above show, there were 3 times as many votes for
TxCajun than anyone else. The poll asked people to select two, so the most
any one person could get was 50% of the vote and TxCajun got 42%.
That means about 89% of ktoggers picked TxCajun.

With Wilson's name removed there's no longer another clear standout so I've
just added TXCajun as the new moderator.
yzGuy can also remove or edit posts or do other moderator activities
as his time permits as well as myself.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the vote of confidence and will try my best to be a good moderator. IMO, less is better, so I will try to basically stay out of the way, except of course to help out with questions about the board, guns and such. You guys handle that well as it is. Mostly, this board runs itself because of people like you. When I figure out how, I'll do stuff like move posts to where they belong if a newbie gets one in the wrong place, etc. PM me if you ever see anything on the board that needs attention. Hmm... Now where's that "ban" button? HA! Gottcha! ;D

P.S. I'm heading out for S Louisiana in a few. So, if you're on I-10 East, going less than 80mph in the left lane, and you see a white Dakota quad cab coming up behind ya... The guy is armed and dangerous, because he hasn't seen his lady friend in a month... Move over!

I'm sure you'll do a great job. Just don't be too slow on the draw when the next ScottD comes along.

I'll be heading to S. Louisiana in a couple of weeks also to visit the in-laws. The spousal unit is a Cajun - from Sulphur, right next to Lake Charles.

TX will be the best! Thanks for offering to take the job. Does this mean the background music will be Doug Kershaw now TX? Zideco?

Tx, I guess I was away for the second round, but it turned out OK anyway. ;D Good deal, but too bad you won't have time to get to the range now. :-/ Or maybe you go to a Wi-FI range? :) Seriously, congrats and thanks.
