that was all I carried until the dpx round came out. for sure if you have feed problems with the pow r ball, then you will have feed problems with any hp round. It is a good round, IMO the dpx is just better...
I would pick the regular Cor-Bon JHP over the Power Ball

It costs less + Seems to be more available + Has more power.

If my gun had feeding problems that prevented it from shooting HP's then I would try and  fix it.
Even if it ment sending it in to Kel-Tec.

My wife thinks the gray tips on the PowR'ball bullets match Gray Ghost but that’s the only P-3AT we keep loaded with it.

Wilson – who’s always afraid his wife might take to long selecting the proper colored pistol to shoot the BG :D
Based on the tests cited on this forum and others I feel the Corbon powerball load is a good one but the Corbon DPX load is better. I now carry DPX in my .380, 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP so you see I have confidence in it.
DPX is the only way to go if you are only loading JHP. Because I feel that .380 is just a little weak, I interleave DPX with AE FMJ.

IMO the Pow r ball is a darn good round. like the gold dots, I lean towards the dpx but up until then pow r ball was in the pipe and magazine.
Both DPX and Power R Ball love my P3AT
Went to DPX, saw some testing and liked the results.
Both performed well in 2G P3AT

I carry DPX as my SD round of choice. I want as much bang for the buck as I can squeeze out of that little pistol. Cor Bon says a .380 DPX rd generates 1050fps/196ftlbs with a 80gr bullet. A .380 Power Ball rd is 70gr and kicks out at 1100fps/188ftlbs. I'd go with the heavier bullet unless there is some problem feeding HPs.
i believe corbon used the p3at extensively when developing the dpx ammunition, if I remember properly.

but in my advanced age, I may be forgetting something.... :-/
Yep! The .380 DPX was practically DEVELOPED to be the best and most powerful round in the P3AT. Pretty smart business IMO, because if they aren't already, P3ATs will be the most prevalent .380 pistol.

exclusively!!  dementia my friend, dementia.
My early FG is v-very picky about ammo, tending to choke randomly on anything but round-nose profile. Pow'rball is utterly reliable in functioning my weepon. It may not be a "death-ray", but follow-up shots are assured. Out of defference to heavy rounds, my first cartridge carried "up the pipe" is a 102 gr Golden Sabre...all the rest are P-ball. wd-40
My last remaining early 1G would not feed anything reliably except Win Silvertip--until DPX! It feeds that just fine. In fact, That is the only P3AT that I do not interleave. It is loaded 100% with DPX.
