I'll add to that: It is most definitely a SHOOTER by anyone's definition! However, I now have two of them (Yeah, they are that much fun!) and the barrels get dirty faster than my other .22.lr handguns (S&W .22 compact, Browning 1911-22 and Ruger Mark IV Lite) but for me this is not a serous problem because I rarely shoot more than 100 rounds per gun in one session since I shoot more than one gun per session.

Just bring that baby home and clean her right away, and plan to use more patches or gun 'Q-tips' than you might on another gun.

And as far as malfunctions, you will probably find one or three brands of ammo that your particular gun prefers and one or more that have way too many light primer strikes with no "bangs." That is pretty much normal.

Re some debris coming out of the wide ejection port: ; I wear shooting gloves and would not notice that if it had not been pointed out in the video. BUT my expensive Browning 1911-22 flings hot stuff out also. I soot left handed and I found that out when shooting it from the hip - and wound up with little red dings all over my throat. I wear serious neck protection now!

It is unusual to find one in a store for that MSR price, and especially the colored ones, but even at $20 to $40 (ouch) higher, it is still a good buy. Mine came with three 16 round mags, not the 4 shown in that demo video. The black one I bought recently on line was $219 but with free shipping, and where I live there were still NO black ones available.

BUT - and here is a big $$ factor: The magazines only cost $15 each if you can find any at all. Compare that to the over $30 for mags for more expensive brands of guns. (In my case, buying the second P17 gave me the 6 magazines that are my minimum for one range trip. LOL)

OH and plan to buy a magazine loader. It is a rare and exceptionally strong man who can fully load those magazines without a loader. The springs are super stiff! I bought the two tone UpLula for wide body .22's and the owner of our local indoor range modified it for me to work with the P17. For way less money I also bought (on line) the push down Taylor Tactical one which is designed specifically for this gun. Now I have two, so someone can help me load my 6 magazines quickly! :)

Buy - Enjoy!

I recently bought one but have not had a chance to get to the range yet. The only issue I have with the P17 is the grip, it's a narrower version of a boxy Glock grip which I hate. If I'd known about this before I probably would not have bought it.
Still it's light enough that the grip, while not all that comfortable I can live with, for the time being.

Sorry to hear that you hate the grip. I was a dedicated Glock Girl for 20 years until the too wide grips trashed my thumb and wrist bones. Given that, I like the grip on the P17. It is large enough for me to get a good two handed grip - compared with the really small and narrow grips on my mini 1911 style carry guns. I did put layers of plastic for shims under those too narrow grips and they help somewhat, but at this point, for me the two most comfortable guns to shoot are the S&W .22 compact and the P17. (I also have a S&W EZ but it is too unreliable to consider using it for carry!)

The ease of racking the slide and the light weight trigger of the P17 for me are bonuses - once I shot it a couple of times and got used to the trigger, that is.

If you still hate the P17 after shooting it a couple of times, it should be easy to sell. They are in demand.

Like I said I can live with it for the time being besides it's only one of numerous firearms I own. Everything is different for everyone, my hands aren't designed to hold on to 2x4s comfortably which is why I don't own Glocks. If Glocks had more ergonomic grips then I would probably own at least one, as it is my SAR 9 is basically an enhanced Glock upper on a VP9 lower. Very comfortable.

I hate the Glock bump frame. Bought a Glock 43x because it did not have the typical Glock grip and found I really like the Glock firearm design and easy maintenance/after market part replacement. After discovering Poly 80 frames as well as the slides (no frill, just basic slide) I built MY perfect Glock with custom parts.

Trust me, this is the grip you want. It becomes part of the gun and never shifts, and has definitely improved my accuracy as well as the comfort. Makes all the difference in the world.

Found out about this grip sleeve from mrstangblb. Glad to hear it's working for you too. Agree 100% that it will be part of the gun and won't shift. Took me about five minutes to get on with my weak hands using heat to make it more supple. Good stuff.

So… you screw your irreplaceable suppressor onto a sliver of an exposed threaded barrel, guess if it’s on or not, and then proceed to have the metal front bushing smack up against your suppressor?

I’m I missing something?
