Would it make sense to use a washer in a new slide or one with low mileage before peening appears?  Assuming the pistol functions with it, it would seem to me to be cheap insurance.
Exactly my thought process and exactly what I am doing. I run washers in both of the twins and have since the first couple hundred rounds. There has been no signs of peening with the washers in place.

Once KT gets this whole thing sorted out and truly figures out that they have it fixed and any bad slides thrown out, I might take the washers out and start shooting away without them. For now, its cheap insurance.
