    I called Kel-Tec and the latest production RDBs serials are Z6* so there are a bunch of them out there.

    Z4SXX so that means I'm sitting in the 16000's, according to the table
    Purchased in the end of March 2020
    Happy to be a RDB owner!

    Edit: It is the 17" version with pistol grip

    You can just plug your serial in the X's at the end of the JavaScript area...
    (it will be set to Z5C53 by default, resulting in 18,253rd rifle made)
    println(keltecSnUnpack("XXXXX"));
    Then hit RUN at the top left corner of the screen.

    ...I got lazy and made something I feel is a bit more usable:

    https://keltec.wolfwings.us/serial.html

    I didn't bother looking up the serial number model prefix (the first letter) for anything but the 3 I have access to, but you can just punch a Kel-Tec serial in there, or save the file and run it locally, it's entirely run in your browser so nothing is sent anywhere.

    EDIT: There was a typo in the code (I was multiplying the fourth digit by 100, not 10) but as my personal serial number had a zero in that slot I missed that when testing.

    I appreciate your diligence in providing a serial number calculator, however the results are different when using your calculator vs the one in the post listed above. I don't know which is correct.

    ...try now. I had a "100" where it should have been a "10" but my own serial number had a zero in that slot so it didn't make a difference when I'd spot-tested it. >_>;

    Thank you, WolfWings...it works perfectly. Now I have the numbers for my RFB, RDB and KSG.

    Glad to help, what's the prefix letter for RFB? I'll gladly add it to the list. :)

    Hey folks, new to the forum, and late to the thread. My RDB is arriving in a couple days. (pretty damn excited!) It's NIB, but the serial calculator puts its manufacture in the #7600 range. (Z28xx)
    Anyone have an opinion on this? Is this old stock?

    I would guess that s/n Z28xx would have been built in Sep - Oct 2018. So it appears that it is new old stock. It is newer than my RDB, and I don't have any problems with it, so you should be OK.

    Thanks! I wasn't sure how to translate @WolfWings calculator results into a year of manufacture.
    That's a late enough manufacturing date that it would seem to not likely have any of the reported issues that some of the early ones sometimes had.

    There is no way to do so as it depends on the production rate of Kel-Tec at any given date. It's purely a serial number, with date and time having no bearing at all on the sequence. Only KT can translate a serial number to a manufacture date based on their internal records.

    I bought my RDB17 in July 2019 S/N: Z5NXX according to WolfWings calculator it's number 19,273.
    Other than one case of operator error, it runs flawlessly with 62gr M855 green tip ammo. I did think about turning the gas adjustment down, but not until I get a chance to test it on some 223A 55gr FMJ PMC which probably isn't as hot as the Federal M855.

    Bought an RDB Defender 8/5/2020 and it's in the #23900 range. We'll see if it runs, fingers crossed.
