What kind/name brand range bag do you guys recommend? Mainly carrying 2 handguns, hearing protection, and around 200 rounds of ammo?

We started with the MidwayUSA Competition bag listed above, but that was when I was Pack-Muling both my stuff and my Wife's stuff. Watch the video on the link above to see what all it can handle.

While I still use the Large bag, my Wife has since getten the Compact Competition bag and mules her own stuff.

The Compact Competition has room for multiple pistols, ammo, holsters and protection, just not a many pockets, or the removable inner bag that the large bag has.

Both bags are great for hauling everything you'd need for an outdoor shooting range, or club competition. Both have held up very well for several years of use.

If you're just bringing 1 or 2 pistols to an indoor range, the MidwayUSA Tactical Pistol Gun Case will do nicely.

The Midway large bag is a GREAT bag for the money. I have had mine for a couple of years now and I can haul all of the eyes, ears and glasses for the entire family, 4 pistols all the mags, tools, lubes, targets, binoculars etc etc etc etc.

It's perfect for a day at the range!! It is, however, overkill for a quick jump to the range!!

Here's another vote for the "MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag".

I use it for normal trips to the range, and it holds EVERYTHING I always carry: Cleaning supplies, lube, files, tools, drink bottle, eyes, ears, uplula mag loader, cloths, binder clips, targets, etc.

I've also comfortably carried 12 pistols and 10 boxes of mixed ammo at the same time (without losing anything else from the bag).

Here's a random video I found that does a pretty good job of explaining all that comes with it, sizes, etc.

For a one or two pistol trip, I use the "MidwayUSA Tactical Pistol Gun Case":

ncp is this what u ordered?:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/74...ear-shooting-rest-bag-nylon-olive-drab-square

I think that is mainly used for just a few items but one that u can then put on the bench and use it to lean you and the gun on when u shoot. Not sure how good a general purpose range bag it would be. Not trying to rain on your parade just wanted to give u a heads up.

I actually just use one of these freebie bags I used to get when I worked. The companies would put their logo on the outside otherwise they work fine. Not fancy or anything.

I do like this one bag at the site that siege mentioned:

http://countycomm.com/bailoutbaggen5.html

If reading your post now costs me the $33.00 for the bag I expect 1/2 of it back from you siege.

I'm guessing the got the "Tactical Pistol Gun Case" that I linked in reply #8. It's on sale for $9.99 right now.

You're doing it wrong Rob, my wife insists on carrying the range bag with all our stuff in it every week when we go to the range and further insists on pushing my gun cart when I shoot Sporting clays every week.

I get a lot of strange looks from people, but I always tell 'em, hey, doesn't everybody have a gun bearer?:)

I own one of the large Competition bags in black, two of the Compact Competition bags, 1-black and 1-Olive Drab, and 3 or 4 of the Tactical Bags that work nicely for the XD/XD-SC/XD(M), pairings. All from Midway and all still performing well after as long as 4+ years.

The large, one of the midsize, and all of the tactical bags have been to two or three of the KY KT Konventions in rough, freezing weather, mud, hot and humid and dust. So they've seen some good use and are not much worse for the wear.

One of the midsize bags holds my Glock 23 three-in-one kit, with two extra conversion bbls, 29 loaded magazines, including 10 joysticks, 9mm. .40 & .357 Sig ammo, glasses, holster and ear plugs. This is a HEAVY load, but this and all the other Midway bags have held up nicely. The padded/curved shoulder strap for the bags is a nice touch and useful as well.

I have at least 2 dozen gun bags/cases from Blackwater to VooDoo to Bulldog to Maxpedition, and the Midway line of bags are a great bang for the buck IMO. Especially when you can catch them on sale!

I also own 4 of the Competitive Edge Dynamics 6-slot pistol mag holders which fit nicely down into the Midway tactical bags, doubling the mag capacity, as well as creating a padded separator between two pistols.

With 2-3 of the Midway bags along, I'm pretty well equipped for an all day shoot, and the Tactical bags are great for the grab and go, short indoor range, or backyard trip.

My current range bag is a medium sized zippered bag I got at a conference a couple of years ago. Sorry I don't have a picture.

I hate carrying my stuff in anything that indicates a gun is inside. One of my shooting buddies uses a collapsable nylon tool bag he bought at a Sears Hardware store. Lots of pockets for ammo and a pretty large main compartment. When my bag wears out, that's what I'm getting.
