Today I decided to clean all the mags for my P-32. In addition to three 7 round mags I have two hi-capacity mags, one 10 round and another 8 round. The 10 round went fine but upon opening the 8 round I found two followers installed in it. The followers are identical, just one behind the other. I removed the "extra" one, reassembled the mag and it now holds 9 rounds comfortably and with just a small amount of effort it will take 10 rounds. The 8 round mag is just a tad bit shorter overall length so I don't believe it was intended as a 10 round mag. Is this the normal way to make a 8 round mag (extra follower) or did someone make an error in assembly? I bought the mags used so I can't confirm their history. Thanks for your help.

That's not normal, it should only have one follower. I don't think it should be able to hold 9 or 10 rounds either. Is it the 7 round mag with the factory +1 kit installed or something else? Can you post a pic?

Can't post a pic now but it is definitely not the one round extension shown on the Kel-Tec site. The 8 round looks the same as the 10 round but the rubber lower portion is about 3/16" shorter than the 10 round mag. Both are Mecgar mags. I searched on the net to see if I could find a 8 round mag with that geometry but no luck. When I bought them the seller said one was 8 and the other 10. Could the double follower issue have caused this confusion? Maybe a early/later production issue to explain the difference in the lower rubber extension?

CJP32, Thanks for the input. After I did a lot of on-line digging I believe both mags to be the 10 shot version. Must have been a factory mix-up in which 2 followers wound up in that one mag. The fella I bought them from purchased them new and never questioned why one would only take 8 rounds, he just thought it was an 8 round mag. I can seat 10 rounds in both mags with the smaller one taking just a wee bit more pressure to seat number 10. both feed just fine. At least now I have a spare follower in my parts box.
