Was at the range and didn't have a great day. This is my second problem.
My first - http://www.thektog.org/forum/showthread.php?t=248282

I purchased a LaserLyte for the PF-9 and it failed the first time out - laser on, laser off at random.

I returned that one and purchased an "Lasermax Uni-Max Micro"

I had only been out one time with this - to sight it in and it didn't give me any issues. Approx 100 rds, 3 weeks ago.

But last night, I got thru 2 mags (14 rounds) and the laser is pointing at the wrong lane.

When I check the laser emitter is hanging out the the front by a wire.

I push it back into place, when I get thru the next mag (total 21 rounds) the emitter is gone. ( I found it later on the floor )

I am extremely disappointed - I was shooting standard 9mm FMJ (range purchased Fiocchi ammo)

Do I give Lasermax a second chance?

On the plus side, I am pleased with the Northwood trigger.

If I had that experience, I would not give them a second chance.

I'd go with a different brand, if I were you.
(Yes, I'd do the same thing if I were in your position).

Luckily, I've not yet had any problems with my uni-max micro, on my XD .40 subcompact.

If you are still looking for a laser for your PF-9, I suggest the Crimson Tide one. I have it installed on my PF-9 and have had no problems with it. Plus, the fact that the "on/off switch" is located on the grip means that it only activates when you grip the pistol for firing, thus prolonging battery life. :) (If your hands are a big as mine, you could get a decent grip on the pistol without activating the laser. :D)

I'd say give 'em a call/email and give 'em a chance to make it right.
I'd bet both companies would replace your faulty units... Especially LaserMax.

We have the same Unimax Micro that we've swapped between our XDs, PF-9 and SR9c without any issues. IIRC... My Wife picked it up right after it came out a Year or Two ago. It was between the Micro and the Armalaser equivalent (SR2-635?), but nobody locally sells Armalaser.

I would try and get them replaced if possible, however I don't think I would trust the replacements for self defense.

Also a good reason not to rely on any laser for a self defense weapon. Make sure to practice without it too.
