Well I dooded it again! I purchased another 1st gen P3AT. It is quite literally new. I know the fella that owned it and know for a fact that it only has 2 magazines ( 12 rounds total ) of ammo run through it. I had taken him down to my farm where he first fired it. He shot the rounds, I helped him clean the gun and he put it in his nightstand and never fired it again. He passed away several months ago and his wife decided to sell their home and moved into a assisted living center. She asked me if I was interested in purchasing it. She sold it to me for $150 and the cost of having a ffl transfer. Ended up getting it for $185 with transfer fee and purchase permit cost. Now the problem is with adversary 13 closing up shop; where can I purchase the bersa magazine bottoms and other goodies for it? Anybody know of a good place?

Thanks for the assist! The old rememberer isn't doing its job to well lately. Want to get this new gun fixed up for my baby daughter. She just took her CCW course and range test. She passed the range test with a perfect score (she used my Ruger Mark 1 w/a bull barrel; no way she could have failed). She works in a very bad section of St. Louis, MO. and one of her co-workers was assaulted on the street just before Christmas. Will probably have to hire out the work on the pistol. The hands just won't co-operate most of the time. One thing about the P3AT - it hides real well.

Wish I lived nearby, I'd be more than happy to help. Having said that, almost anyone can install a Bersa or KT extension. The local gun smith or whoever sold you the gun shouldn't charge a dime. It takes less than a minute. (push button - slide mag base off- catch spring - slide new base on. If you get desperate, PM me and you can mail me any mags and extensions you want converted and I'll ship them back. For that matter, if you were to call Kel-tec, and buy a new mag or two with a +1 extension, I bet they'd install them before shipping.

BTW, how's Laura? I bet you miss her and I know we all do here. I'm sure she's got some stories to tell by now. Ask her to register and post us an update. We'd love to hear from her. 8)

Received a letter from Laura last week. She's getting settled in, making her nest-so to speak. She's not too happy with the phone system there, writes that it only seems to work half the time. They rely on radio more for communication. She has no internet or e-mail available at the moment.
I miss Laura, but to be honest, I miss my grandson Marky the most. He was a daily visitor and liked hangin' out with ole grandpa. He was my hands for a lot of things and helped me when I couldn't remember something. He also enjoyed playing chess with me and talking about hunting, fishing, and shooting. Oh well! Guess thats just the way it is. Time marches on!

My new son-in-law has a five year employment contract, has to stay a minimum of three years. The company paid for their moving fees and provides them with housing for that period of time. Laura is tough and will make the best of it and won't cause a fuss for her husband. Knowing my daughter she will come to enjoy it a lot. A new adventure for her.
Marky will probably be a grown man when/if I see him again. He's 15 amost 16 years old now, he'll be 20-21 years old when or if they return to the states. Hope he learns to and gets a chance to hunt in Africa. That would be a great adventure for any boy or man.
