I recently received a CAA Roni rifle kit.

On the stock it has a spare glock magazine holder. I never liked using those as I prefer to keep all my spare ammo on my belt. Or have a big enough stick where I don't have to reload.

But I know many of you do like having magazines stored on the Sub2K. The CAA Roni mag holder is just held with two screws and a threaded plate. You could modify it or the Sub2K for this to work.

Or maybe modify the Glock mag holder that has been listed on their site. The G17 variant looks like it will find a spot on my Gen2.

The retention design feature intrigues me; not like the others I've seen.....

I checked with Heidi @ CAA; she mentioned that the individual mag holders are going to be removed from the US website.

That's what caught my attention. The retention design is perfect for the S2K. I'm going to try work-up an attachment to the stock.
Maybe a couple Chicago Screws will do the trick - we'll see

Had to place an order with a different vendor; long-story short, the mag holders finally arrived

One G17 magazine in place. Looks like the Vickers mag floor plates will fit!

A design feature that got my attention was the magazine could tilt from the side.

View from the other side. I'm thinkin' that the polymer plate can be eliminated so each mag holder could be attached to the stock. Just got to figure-out a good way to make that happen. Any & all suggestions are welcome....

That was my problem way back when. There are plenty of "male" rail mounting options and attachments. But there seem to be zero options for buying a "female" base to add to something like this so you can mount it. It's why I ultimately dropped the flamethrower and chainsaw ideas for the Space ModulatOr. :nuts:

Not being an expert in the AR stuff, how would you attach the mag holder? I think I would prefer using the Beretta belt mounted double mag holder that I use in IDPA. Quick and easy to drop the spent mag, and pull and insert a new one.

Yep, I have an IWB double-mag holder that I use and like. Still working-out how to mount one to the butt stock. Any suggestions are welcomed....

I don't see any advantage of mouting a mag holder to the butt stock. Being on the belt is still the best option I think. Works fine with pistols so why not with the Sub2K.

Reloads for a home defense rifle. If your sub is a go-to gun it's better to have a reload on it then to have to worry about grabbing the gun and a belt.

Watching this thread, still looking for a good on-gun mag holder for the gen2

Here is what I came up with. Very pleased with it. Simple and faster than anything else I have seen. Just a little pic rail drilled and tapped for 8-32 screws through the Orpaz 553-G single mag holder.
