I went fishing with my SIL and grandkids off a pier near St. Pete FL. We got into a few snook and a ladyfish just using shrimp as bait with simple rigs. It was real nice to get out for a couple hours.

Anybody hitting good fishing (either salt or freshwater) now that the weather has cooled? My health has really recovered in a big way and it is nice to resume outdoorsy stuff!

I haven't heard any recent reports of pier fishing in the panhandle area. But i usually hear good things.

What bait do you use when fishing for piers? Even better questions; what type of rod and reel? How big of line?
