Good afternoon.
I am looking to buy a 9mm and am having a tuff time deciding which to get. The PF 9 or the P11. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I plan on this being my every day carry. Do either one come with a spare mag. ?
Thanks for any advice you my have

Do you want single stack or double stack? normally only 1 mag comes with a new one. I went through the same thinking when I decided on my p11 right before i joined ktog. It's up to you. I have been looking at the pf9 lately at local gun stores.

I like them both. I think the PF 9 will probably Be the one. Going tonight to a range/ gun shop to try both if I can. ( just hope they are both in stock. )
I went by Kel Tec here in town and held both in my hand. Both felt good. The PF 9 was a tad lighter & thinner.
Thanks

It's a bit of a tough choice, really.

The -9 is lighter and thinner, but the fatter grip on the -11 softens recoil...
but the -9 has a lighter trigger---tho the -11 has the extra round count.

I ended up with both--got a nice deal on a used -11, after buying a -9.

Tried the belt clip carry on both. The greater thickness and weight of the P-11
weren't noticeable, but the sharp corners on the PF-9's rail mount were, so
I've settled on the P-11 for carry. I've come to prefer the slightly heavier
trigger with the belt clip carry, too..."just in case".

Too late to the party ;(
I also have both. Had the P11 for quite a while, didn't carry it much, seems a bit bulky to me. I did carry a P32 for a long time right after first issue, then got the P3AT when it came out and carried that. Waited a couple years before getting the PF9, just a little bit bigger than the P3AT.
I go next to nowhere without the PF9. I do carry a couple extra magazines though. Even if you end up going with the P11, I'd still carry an extra mag. I just think that if you ever have to use it, it deserves to be full up to be prepared if any other threat occurs.

The one other important thing not mentioned here is the 2nd strike capability of the true DAO P-11.

I have a few P11's and never thought about a PF9 and I dont want one. The P11 hides well in a fobus OWB under a T shirt! I have a S&W M&P9c and it doesnt hide as well.

That's overrated if you ask me. If a round fails to fire the first time it should be cleared instead of trying again. Having second strike capabilities isn't a bad thing but it wouldn't be a decision maker for me.

I carry my pf9 all the time but I've been considering a P11 too. The extra capacity is the main reason.

I feel the same way, if my clothing allows. Today, I'm carrying a P-40 as a front pocket pistol. I definitely don't feel under-gunned.

I was also considering a G26 but I think the P11 might be a better choice instead. I really like the belt clip on my pf9 and I could do the same with a P11.
I got a great deal on a used P-11, after buying a PF-9. With belt clips on both, I don't notice the greater thickness of the P-11...but I do notice the sharp corners of the rail on the PF-9. For me, the P-11 is actually more comfortable.

It's only plastic. Break out a file, some sandpaper, or a dremel if you're not planning on mounting a laser or flashlight. Shouldn't hurt resale since a second owner can always get a new grip.

Yah, the thought occurred to me too. I did take a little off the
sharp corners, without noticeable effect. Grinding the whole
affair smooth is out of the question--I do have a nifty compact
light that's amazingly bright and FITS, and it's nice to have that
option for fishing, camping, and annoying possums & armadillos
in the back 40.

The replaceable grip is a real option, but not something the
general gun-buying public is aware of, or necessarily interested
in pursuing...

For now, the PF is my back-up carry, if the P-11 ever goes
down for maintenance. It's nice to have a spare. All's good.

It all depends what you want out of it. I chose the PF-9. But I was specifically looking for a thinner lighter option for when I didn't want the weight and thickness of my G26. For that the PF-9 was perfect. If you'll carry the P-11 everyday than why not, but if you prefer the size and weight of the PF-9 then that is the way to go.
