Saw this looks like a chunk of aluminum is missing. Can anyone confirm my worst fears?

If you are referring to the 'gap' in the frame just in front of the hammer, that is normal for the PF-9. It is almost always broken off by the hammer at some point, and has no effect on the function at all. In later PF-9s, Kel Tec removed this small piece during assemby to save time and issues.

Thanks. Picked this up a few months back and was installing a Northwoods trigger and saw that.

Happened to mine when a buddy decided to dry fire it before I could stop him. Almost died of a heart attack when I saw him do it and saw a chunk fly out... but the gun still works. Really bizarre quirk of the design.
