If you are referring to the 'gap' in the frame just in front of the hammer, that is normal for the PF-9. It is almost always broken off by the hammer at some point, and has no effect on the function at all. In later PF-9s, Kel Tec removed this small piece during assemby to save time and issues.

Happened to mine when a buddy decided to dry fire it before I could stop him. Almost died of a heart attack when I saw him do it and saw a chunk fly out... but the gun still works. Really bizarre quirk of the design.
