While ordering a new steel mag catch and new ejector spring I saw that Kel Tec now offers the P11 Steel Spring under the upgrade section for the PF9. Im assuming that if Kel Tec supports the idea of the steel guide rod for the PF9 that it shouldn't be any issues. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

It comes up often and it's a terrible idea. The only possible "benefit" is enlarging the guide rod hole in the slide. The P3at which has a factory steel guide rod had that problem a few years ago. It could get so bad the springs would push out of the front of the slide. They did eventually fix the problem.

There have been no failures of the plastic guide rod I've heard of.

Stick with the plastic rod...you'll gain nothing from a metal guide rod...except possible problems.

I had a perfect running old Colt Mustang. I changed to a steel rod for it Then be came Jam o matic old Colt Mustang. I replaced the factory plastic and all fine again .This is a original 1 st Gen Mustang and that plastic is still in it and its brother.
