...superb engineering.

:)

New guy here. Found your forum...joined.

Always read online about what garbage these little Keltec were. Found a to-cheap-to-pass-up deal on a used P3at about four years ago. Never owned a .380, so I bought it. I like to tinker with mechanical stuff, so as a mental exercise, I just knew I could mess with and make this garbage work. :D (yeah, I'm that conceited in my mechanical ego.)

Now, after over a thousand rounds it has totally deflated that ego. I am a card carrying member of the Church if Glock, so my reliability standards were already high. This little pistol has went bang at every request. Not one jam or FTF. This thing has not failed with any ammo it was given to digest. It even survived a bad batch of Summit factory ammo that Kaboomed a SW Bodygaurd I later purchased as an "upgrade".

The only improvement I've been able to add was little finger spur baseplates on the magazines. Without them, I the pistol was just to painful to practice with. That is all I've done to it. It is not a fun gun to shoot, but has a better reliability track record than my trusty Glocks.

Just wanted to say howdy. :rayof::rayof:

Welcome Flysc. They are a little hard on the hand but I just range shoot mine with a fingerless glove. If I ever have to use in in a social role I doubt I will notice it. Mine is basically stock.

Thanks. Who sells these?
you can get them from keltec. kind of ticks me off that it costs about as much as a new mag and you are left with a 6rd spring and baseplate(and maybe follower, don't remember). Wish you could just buy it complete instead of having to refit an existing mag or buy another one to modify.

I believe you CAN buy them as a full assembly. I'm positive I saw them on a rack at the Accessories store during my last visit to the factory.

Try calling.

Thanks, fellers. My spare mag is a 10 round Promag. Promag is another brand that catches a lot of grief on most gun boards, but the one I've owned since i bought the P3at has ran perfectly.

I too have seen my fair share of KT bashing...

However.

Mine and almost every other KT owner I have met personally, loves theirs and their pistol's reliability.

Just saying. As the saying goes.

We've got 3 Kel-Tecs (2 9mm's and a .380) have been very happy with all of them.

We cleaned and did the 'fluff and buff' thing to all before firing and have no feed or reliability problems whatsoever. I did file down and polish the mag release on my PF9 because I felt it protruded to much for my taste; I was more concerned with inadvertently dropping a mag than with the need for lightning mag swaps. They do require the use of proper technique, though.

Granted, the KTs are a far cry in quality from my Walther and CZ service pistols, but then I can't pocket carry those.
