P15 Magazines

Am very interested in the P15 as a replacement EDC gun but since there are 10 states (and more working on it), that limit magazines to 10 rounds, and 0 states that limit magazines to 12 rounds, plus the introduction videos say there will be 10 round magazines available, I need 10 round magazines to be available before I purchase a P15.

Has anyone heard anything about when the 10 round magazines might be available?

Just use standard factory (made by Mec-Gar) P11 magazines, which fit and function perfectly well in the P15. They're 10-round mags and look and fit exactly like the factory 12-round magazine for the P15 ... which is, in fact, also a factory P11 magazine. (In fact, if you look at the side of a P15's 12-round magazine, it's stamped "KT-P11-12" for "Kel-Tec P11, 12 rounds".)

I would STRONGLY recommend only using the factory Mec-Gar brand mags and not the crappy knockoffs made by ProMag, which are notorious for functional problems. Also, while the mags made for the SCCY CPX-1 and CPX-2 and DVG-1 pistols might LOOK the same (because those pistols are knockoffs of the P11), they DO NOT fit in the P11 - the magazine catch hole is in a different location.

Thank you very much!

What I'm looking to replace is a Glock 19, Gen 2 and a SCCY CPX-2. I'm NOT looking for cheap, I'm looking for a single EDC that I can DEPEND on AND can take when I travel. With everything that's going on now, I NEED the confidence of a single EDC for EVERYTHING/ALL-THE-TIME!

One thing I also want is the "pinky" extension, will the KelTec P11 extension work on the Mec-Gar 10Rd?

Again, thank you!

It should, although you're going to need to "notch" the rear of the pinky extension so it will clear the back part of the grip (backstrap section) that sorta sticks down just a tiny bit on the P15, which isn't present on the P11. Should be easy to achieve with a quick zip of a Dremel tool and grinding wheel, or maybe just a file.
The magazine or the extension is what I'm waiting on to hit the market. I want one or more for my P-11's/P40's..
They're listed online, but everyone's sold out right now because of the usual "it just came out" blues that come with mags for most firearms. I'd expect it to be a few months before supply catches up and the folks who initially buy/bought the P15 have their fill of mags (folks like me who pretty much require a minimum of 3 mags per gun, mostly for range purposes).
These mags are the ones that I have been waiting for my P-11.
