Were the P-11 and the P-40 the same size magazine and interchangeable? I ask as I noticed P-40 markings on a mag I've had for years that I thought was for my p-11. Can't remember ever shooting with it.

The P40 & P11 12 rounder are identical except for the witness holes & maybe a little tiny bit wider between the feed lips on the 40 mag. The P11 10 rounder has a different spring & follower to limit the capacity.

My P11 with the P40 conversion kit ran with all 3 mag types no issues.

Thanks for the info. Will checkout my local up coming gun shows to KelTec magazines.

The original P-40 magazines were actually P-11 magazines, since at first the "P-40" was just an optional slide and barrel assembly for a P-11. Later the P-40 came out as a model of gun in its own right, with its own magazines. The first dedicated P-40 magazines had feed lips that were the same distance apart as those for a P-11, but had a "cutout" on the front of the feed lips and a different follower and spring to hold 9 rounds of .40 S&W. (They still worked just fine with 9 mm, and held 12 rounds.) Later, the distance between the feed lips was increased, presumably to improve feeding. There were a couple of other minor changes along the way.

That light kit is a fairly rare item. I wouldn't get rid of it.

At the local gun show today I came across a seller that had a few used keltec mags but he wanted $36. I passed as I purchased a new 12rd mag last week for $27
