No Faith in Kel Tec .380

Sorry to say this since I truley wanted this little weapon for a long time.

I bought mine a few years ago, also bought some good rounds for it. My 1st shot went great other than the bullet didnt eject. after digging the empty brass out I fired another round another jam. I took it home and cleaned it with a fine tooth comb. Third shot jammed.

I sent it to Kel tec they "repaired" and returned it to me. I went back to the range. 1st shot jammed. after digging the empty brass out I fired again 2nd shot jammed again. I sent it back to kel tec then repaired and returned again. Went to the range 1st shot jammed. I caleld them again and told them that I can't recommend this weapon to any of my friends in law enforcement. They then had me send the gun to them a 3rd time they re-sent me a new gun. So far it hasn't jammed but I have no faith in it so im back to carrying my old reliable smith and wesson. Kel tec has great service on a weapon that I can't trust. JMHO

I do like the looks of the new tactical rifles but I don't want to have the same bad luck I had with the .380.

Can you please try and explain to me what you are trying to accomplish with this thread?

Yes, there are some with problems. The people here at KTOG are happy to try and help others sort through them. Yours did (too many times!) but KT made it right. In you own words your new one has been perfect so what is there not to trust?

Because too many others are stealing his offer, I will let Wilson be the first to offer you a crisp $100 bill for it. But if you don't want it, let Wilson or I have it please.

So they sent you a whole new gun? Well shoot it and after a few hundred rounds, if no problems then carry it. I understand you it took sending it back twice but if you read other forums this can happen to any brand of gun's. Keltec will make good just like they did.
Other companys would probley keep trying to fix the same gun over and over rather then replace it.

not trying to accomplish anything, just stating 100% facts. A good customer service on a crappy gun. I just like to know that when I need to use my concealed weapon I have more than one shot.

Thats why no matter how expensive or how cheap the gun is you shoot a few hundreds rounds first.

I have heard stories of $500 glocks jamming on first time out.

Why don't you put 200 rounds through it before posting troll bait? You also failed to mention what type of ammo you were using. If you are here just to whine then go away. If you want help, then ask for it.

you sound like a real winner calling people names. I was just posting a fact. its a great customer service dept. also the ammo was federal premium 90 grain hydra shocks.

He was not calling you names. He only mention about posting "troll bait". He was not calling you a troll. Real trolls are attracted to semi - negitive post. He was making a point that you should always shoot any pistol so many rounds befor you carry it. Even if i went out and spent $2000 on a custom self defense gun, i would still shhot it a few hundred rounds befor carry. If it had problems i would also send it in.

You came into our sandbox and the very first time you posted you started pissing on our toys. Not exactly a way to receive a warm welcome.

And again, I don't know what "stating 100% facts" is trying to accomplish. Do you want some help being made comfortable with your weapon? If you can't be made comfortable, do you want some help getting rid of your weapon? Would sure love to help you either way, just let us know.

Nobody here thinks KT is perfect, or every weapon is perfect. But, as said, this is our "sandbox" and we like to work together to make something better, not just b!tch about it.

Thank you for answering the ammo question. I'm glad you aren't using steel cased ammo. Allot of folks here agree that about 200 rounds is the standard break-in period for this model.

Yes they are keltec is taking their time in getting it out. If you go to the florida shoot thread in ktog goes local, you will see video clips of some of the members shooting the prototype.

Not trying toe piss anyone off here. I guess I was just a little dis hearted is all. Ive had many weapons and still have a few (haha) and I just like to know when I pull it its going to work. You are all right I havent shot it to much after all the trouble I had. I only use quality ammo in my guns. I will say as I have already said Kel tec has great customer service espically for law enforcement. I just have never had a hand gun do this.

I love keltec and will be getting a P3at as soon as i save enough extra after bills. My p11 has been flawless. I just got a sub2000 that im waiting to shoot.
