I was going to post some info in a thread today, and found that "cut" and "paste" don't work in this forum. Is that intentional?

This is the first forum I've ever seen where that is the case. If it's intentional, it pretty much eliminates the utility of the 'quote' script - or just about any of the time savers. I would think that it also seriously limits information exchange, since many people probably won't go to the trouble to retype things like directions, complicated links, etc.

I'm struggling to think of any practical reason to limit the ability to use cut and paste - and I've yet to come up with one.

    What am I missing?

Works for me in Internet Explorer 6, Firefox 2, and Opera 9

Note: you need to copy if you're trying to get information from someone else's post. Cutting only works in fields that you type into.

I'm running IE 6 here at work -- and you're right, I really meant "copy".

Now that's bizarre -- I just tried it again and it's working fine. I'm not a computer moron...so I know how to paste. I tried right click, Ctrl+V, and the "Paste" option from the IE menu. The "Paste" and "Copy" options were grayed out.

I don't know what's changed, but it's working fine now.

    Strange!
