Hi everyone, great and very informative forum, glad I found it. Just brought a supposedly new Gen 2 9mm from an individual. Does look NIB but noticed that the included mag was a little dirty so suspect it's been shot a few times. No biggie on that as I field stripped it. Bolt was also a little dirty but looks new and good with no scratches. Did go shoot for the first time today. Very sweet and pretty accurate. I'll need to adjust sights as shooting low and to the right. Only put 45 rounds through it but had 3 FTFs from one mag. Each of the 3 bullets had a small hash mark, all in the same place, no indent on primer See pic). All 3 fired the second time. Rounds are 115gr Monarch Brass. No problems with the other mag with same rounds. One full mag was Monarch Steel and all fired no problem. Suspect just a mark from feeding the round. I'm planning on hitting the range again next week after I mount a red dot and put a couple 100 more down range. Anyone else shooting Monarch with same problem?

As everyone else says, pretty hard to get a sight picture and a funky trigger but man, I like this gun......

Welcome bstar62. I'm new around these parts also, but have found folks to be pretty informative and gracious in there comments.

My NIB S2K also came dirty, but I am pretty sure it is the residue from test firing at the factory. All firearms are tested. I always clean and lube before loading up for the first time (part of the initial fondling process don't ya know). They have always had residue from factory testing. I'd be more concerned that they were whistle clean.

My S2K jumped out of the box with no need to sight it in. I couldn't believe my first down range lead was so accurate. It had to be the firearm, 'cause I am just not that good of a shot.

Thanks for the picture. We like pictures. And come back often for a visit and your turn on the firing line.

Ditto on the welcome bstar62. Don't worry about the dirty condition. I bought my subbie new from my trusted dealer and it was filthy. I ran 8 swabs through the barrel before they came out clean. The rest of the gun was not much better. Regarding the mark on your ammo, is your magazine a Glock or another brand? Also, Kel Tec does not want you to use steel cased ammo. I believe it is in the manual. Just sayin'. Hope you enjoy your gun as much as the rest of us. Safe shooting.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I read on other threads about not using aluminum cased ammo, but haven't seen anything about not using steel cased. I re-read the manual and there's nothing I could find about not using either, did I miss it? Anyhoo, looking forward to learning from everyone and hopefully contributing to the forum. Cheers....
