First off thanks in advance , just bought the 2K today so not in my hands yet. 10 day jail sentence here in Kali , looked around as well.

My question is this I have a boat load of 9MM NATO exactly as pictured that I got from Wally World here in Kalifornia just before the ammo law changed. Kel-Tec wouldn't say yes or no so i'm looking for some REAL WORLD experiences. Yes I understand this stuff is a little hot but it runs fine in my PC Carbine & my CZ's , do I need to worry about kabooms if a steady diet in the 2K ? Again thanks in advance.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work just fine.

I also bought NATO 124 before things got crazy. My suggestion is to run it with the optional heavy bolt.

You should be fine. I have shot it in mine. It works very well. The 9 mm NATO is generally considered to be comparable to a 9 mm +p. The Sub2K also comes chambered in .40 S&W, which is even more powerful than 9 mm NATO. I have both calibers. The standard factory bolts and recoil springs, which are the principal recoil-handling parts, for both calibers are identical except for the breech face on the bolt head.

Incidentally, new 9 mm Sub2Ks are frequently more reliable with 124 grain bullets than with 115 grain loads. After a few hundred rounds to break in, they typically will shoot anything. The .40s don't usually need a break in.

I generally prefer standard pressure loads. I consider the original 124 grain projectile weight for 9 mm to be the standard. For .40 S&W, I consider 165 grain projectiles to be my standard, because the common commercial loads have practically identical bullet trajectories to those of typical 124 grain 9 mm. In my opinion, 180 grain for a .40 S&W is a little heavier than ideal and is a holdover from the 10 mm, which "inspired" the creation of the .40 S&W.

Thanks all. Yes my worry was the NATO stuff is pretty hot and well you know the 2K is very good carbine but still looks a little thin if you get my point lmao. I know not to run +P but I also know the NATO stuff has some pop.

Hey there, I picked up a box of these by accident. On the bottom of the box in very fine print it said this, this ammo is loaded to military standards and is 10 to 15% higher pressure over standard 9mm luger. I did not use it because +P 9mm is loaded at 10% also SAMMI deemed 9mm nato unsafe to use in guns rated for 9mm luger. I'd think if you use +P in any of your guns rated for it, the nato would fine.

This is not plusP, so you are totally fine. That being said, I agree with previous comment that heavier, ie 124 or 147 grain will more reliably cycle the bolt . . . when I called and spoke with Kel-tec years ago, they told me NOT to use 115 grain, but a heavier weight bullet. Also, I put the heavier weight bolt in mine with 147 grain bullets . . .worked great.

I’ve used NATO interchangeable in everything ( Sig, Kimber, CZ, Glock, PC1 ect ect ) without any problems so far. I just wouldn’t use it in any of the real cheap guns.

Not a big fan of Winchester White Box in any caliber, but I regularly run 9mm NATO in a lot of blowback carbines including my Sub2K, no issues. I do run a Sumo handle which adds some mass to the bolt, and would recommend beefing up the spring or carrier weight if you plan to exclusively run hot loads.
