Just impulse bought a new Gen 2 Sub2000 at my LGS last week. They had a Tan Multi Mag (M&P) 9mm for $369 and had to jump on it...

I am doing some research on them now, but my biggest question is the trigger. I havent shot the gun yet but the trigger seems really weird. It has an initial click then a 2nd click that is the actual hammer release. I looked at some other threads but there was no definitive reason why its happening. One person sent it back to KT and another put a new trigger in, both resolved the issue. I guess I could install a new trigger, but just curious if anyone has figured it out, I would rather fix it myself than wait 2-3 months for KT to repair a brand new gun.

Other than that I love the design and look of the gun. I have ordered a couple of 32rd M&P mags and the bolt tube & op handle covers.

Congratulations on your purchase!

Do a quick scan of the forum and you'll see that a trigger replacement is a VERY popular option. It's inexpensive, you can do it yourself, and there's an immediate positive impact.

With that said, I'd recommend shooting a few hundred rounds through it first before making any changes. You may decide that you like it just the way it is.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, it does look like a new trigger is in my future. Do you think just polishing the hammer/sear and replacing the trigger is enough or should I get the spring kit as well?

Not sure what is going on now. I tried the trigger out again and it works perfectly?! I think it wasnt fully locked up or something, mine is very tight and you have to pretty much slam it closed to get the trigger guard to come all the way down and fully lock up. Hopefully that was all it was. Going to just shoot the thing and see what happens after break in. Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, trigger has some hesitation. I got used to it. After a few hundred rounds it runs great. Had stove pipe issues bad at first, but now its a very fun sowing machine. This might be my favorite gun. Got nice ARs, glocks, HK VP9, etc... I love my 2K

Great price on a m&p version of the sub. Does your shop have any more of them? My son is looking for one and all he can find is the overpriced subs on gunbroker.
No sorry. They had two when I bought mine, the other sold shortly after me. Shop said they rarely get them in and they go quickly... They do have a KSG for $700. The shop is in GA.

Have you had a chance to shoot it yet? I bought mine kind of impulse also and it has turned out to be my most favorite little "fun gun"
Shot it last week. It ran well, went through about 150 rnds and no malfunctions with the included M&P 17rnd promag or either of my two M&P 32rnd promags. Looks like it is good to go. I did have an issue with the front sight adjustment and the "no tamper elevation screw" that I mentioned in another thread... seems like a minor issue, but annoying and wasted alot of ammo messing with it.

I also have the Sub2k with M&P Mags in 9mm and love it. Pick-up a 32 round mag to add to the fun too. Great little shooter and Very accurate. :rayof:
