For the first time in my life, I am not SIG'less. I liberated this used baby from my local gun store during lunch. 2 extended mags and one regular. I really love the coloring with the copper slide and the laminated G10 grips. Grabbed a photo in the parking lot to share quickly!

Nice! The copper color is definitely unusual, but still looks good, IMO. Also digging those side panels.
Thanks. I LOVE the colors. I'm not sure what they call the finish, as I've never seen one like this, and couldn't find it in a quick Google search. But the matching laminated grips are perfect with the copper-colored slide. Maybe they call it bronze, I dunno. Whatever it is, I feel in love with it a couple of days ago when I checked it out and had to go back today and rescue it. :) I couldn't stop thinking about it. You know how that goes. We all do. Like a teenager in love, LOL.

Looks great! Looking forward to range report. Last time I tried one it jammed, nose-dive into the ramp, possibly the magazine.

I think the color looks a lot like burnt bronze from ceracoat. I am very interested in a range report my wife has been looking at these as something smaller than her P250SC but bigger than her P32.
Ok, so I researched this a little bit and the finish is from the factory and it's called ORB, or Oil Rubbed Bronze. It doesn't look like a Cerakote, but I'm not sure how it was applied. I really love it, especially with the colors in the laminated G10 grips.

I'm extremely happy with it. I haven't been to the range yet, but I hope to get there by the end of the week. I don't know Sig models, but that sounds like a good choice for your wife.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. If you did get the odd stinker your talking Sig, they will make it right:cool:
I haven't been to the range yet, but last night I hand-cycled a few types of ammo through the 290 and it was 100%. No nose dives or any hiccups of any kind.

I tried a Winchester FMJ, a Remington JHP, and my typical 9mm carry ammo, some Liberty Ammunition copper-bullet hollow points. The Liberty ammunition OAL is a little bit longer than some 9mms and I've had problem with them in some autos, but not the SIG. It gobbled them up and spit them out with ease. Now I have to see if the gun likes them at the range, too.

Thanks!

I got to the range today with my Sig P290 and shot about 50 rounds of different 9mm brands and types: Liberty Ammunition +p high-velocity lead-free hollow points, Remington standard velocity hollow points, and Blazer Brass FMJ. All fired without a single hiccup. Absolutely no flaws. I LOVE THIS GUN!

I approve :Cooltu: Remember I avoid all boring black firearms whenever possible so had it be me in your shoes that would have caught my attention also.

Good find.
I approve of your assessment. ;) Thanks. Honestly, I don't think I would have bought this if it had been plain-jane black. I tried to ignore it, but had to return to the gun store and relieve it from their possession.
