I just bought my P3AT yesterday and don't know if I will ever want to carry my larger pistol now. After firing about 18 rounds, I retrieved several of the shell casings and noticed that the extractor had left gouge marks on the rim. Is this normal, or something that I should be concerned about? I love the little gun and will never leave home without it.
These guns are often hard on brass. So long as the gun functions, it is only an issue if you want to reload. Otherwise, not to worry.
Thankfully neither of my 2 P3ATs do any scoring that prevent doing re-loads - which a brother of mine does for me. I do however, with both guns, get a bit of flattening of the lip of the brass. Take care...
