Watch this video... pay close attention to how the springs are installed, and how the trigger bar is oriented.

Thanks guys for your help. I'm going to be a big man here and admit I put the hammer in backwards! I'm known for being really precise but I guess we all have done dumb things from time to time but I do appreciate everyone's input.

I'm just guessing, but I think the guy in the video did the same thing once.

Happy that you got it sorted out.

It happens. I changed out a Desert Tan Sig 320 grip frame for a black one which includes the smaller profile ambi slide lock yesterday. The grip frame was provided by the LGS. After I got through, I checked the function, and the mag would not lock into the replacement frame. I won't tell you how many different ways I looked at and how many times I switched those frames out, before I realized the replacement was a full size, and the old frame and mag were compact.

Glad you were able to work it out!!

And I wouldn't classify it in any way as "dumb". If you started bending and hammering things to "make it fit" it would be dumb. You made a simple mistake and shared it here so others (like me!) could learn from it.

Can I ask why you took the gun down that far?

The trigger felt strange to me. It felt like it was getting stuck on something halfway before the break. It feels good now. Now that I know that gun like the back of my hand I ordered the mcarbo trigger kit to see how that feels.

Thanks for posting.

How difficult was the:

Trigger replacement? I definitely want to do this. Is it just a parts replacement project or do I need to solder/dremel or really "modify" things?

Heavy bolt replacement. I'm curious about this. I've broken my S2K down, so I would imagine it's just a simple swap?

Thanks!
Replacing the trigger is pretty easy with a 2.5 mm Allen key. Note: things tend to move out of place as you disassemble the grip, so you need to double check that every spring, lever, and pin are positioned exactly as they need to be before you close it up. The video MCARBO published is a great resource for reassembling the grip correctly. Don't remove the trigger guard!

Installing the heavy buffer is as easy as you think it is, I put a thin coating of XF-7 gun grease on the buffer & bolt before installation.

It's really easy. Now it's even easier that I have taken it apart 3200 times in less than 18 hours just be careful for those 2.5mm allen screws most of them are just horrible I called Kel-Tec and asked for replacement screws and they were happy to do so. For the meanwhile I just got some screws from Lowe's that happen to be the same exact size as the stock screws.

You should shoot a video...

What problem(s) did you have with the screws?

Mine worked fine, but I did lose one locking nut when I installed my red dot mount. Tiny little thing up and disappeared...
