I am in the middle of a negotiation on Gun Broker regarding purchasing a SU-16C. The seller claims that the rifle fold in two places. One folding position to make it still be able to fire the gun and the other folded for a smaller storage profile.

PLEASE anyone that confirm this get back to me. I really want to buy this but do not need another CA model.
Many thanks for any quick replies appreciated.

This is how it can fold for storage. Can't be fired this way.

This is how it can be configured to shot while folded.(This is my A model with C stock.

Speedmaster,

Thanks for he quick reply. So correct me if I am wrong any model can be fired in the folded position if it has a C stock? Just trying to learn something here. Those photos appear to be two different rifles though.

yep. they are interchangeable. c/ca 16" threaded barrel with front sight on gas block.B has 16" non threaded barrel and the A has 18.5" non threaded barrel with front sight on the end of barrel like mine. I wanted the longer barrel.

I am getting conflecting reports. I called Kel Tec tech support and he said that the SU-16C ONLY folds at two points. Fully open and closed with ability to still fire the weapon. I had previously emailed Kel Tec and the reply was that the seller was right it folds fully to remove the bolt and half way to allow it to fire.
Confusion is not the word for this mess.
Anybody with a C model please add your knoledge so I know for sure who is right on this.
Thanks

The pics posted above...and below...the top one shows the SU partially dis-assembled. I would guess that Kel Tec doesn't really consider that as "folded" up. The bottom picture is the "true" folded image. The bottom pic shows the SU folded into a position that allows firing. Where the top pic is really not "folded"...it can be done that way for storage, but the rifle can't be fired in that position.

Paritally dis-assembled...like for storage.

Folded for use.
