More like Fiat than GM (GM partners with companies, Fiat actually buys the companies), but the concept is correct. They are buying up overstretched firearm companies and righting the ship financially (Remington likely would no longer be a functional company if not for Freedom Group).Nothing new. Nothing secret. Some consumers bemoan the purchase of their favorite company by a conglomerate but that is just business.

Customer service went down due to hiring PT employees that didn't know much about the industry, stock prices didn't go up, and sales (and profits) doubled.
