Check the underside of your slide to see if it's rubbing on the top of the trunnion, creating friction which could slow down the slide and maybe not go as far back as it should, or go forward as fast as it should and not fully go into battery.

Maybe they need to lower the trunnion a bit so the slide doesn't contact it, that seems to be causing the most trouble. No need to make it so high, IMO...or shave a few thousandths off the bottom of the slide.
