I just installed the +1 ext on the mag and the magazine won't seat fully with one more round loaded. It seats fine if I just load in the original six rounds. Any ideas?

That is fairly common at first. It is a tight fit. Often after shooting a few mags with 6 rounds they work fine with 7. Also, check the last section of this link to see if that helps:
