I was at a gun shop this weekend. A NIB HC and black P3 caught my eye, and I asked for it so that I could look closer, caress it...own it?

But when I got it in my hands, EWW :-/. The finish was mottled and pockmarked, with very uneven texture and lots of toolmarks-on the OUTSIDE of the slide! The inside looked about the same, with a loading ramp that looked more like an ATV ramp. I handed it back. I thought that the HC factory guns would have a higher level of quality.

I don't need flawless, just less flawed than this.

Kel-Tec will tell you that their hard chrome finish is for rust prevention not beautification. Now if the finish were so bad that it would be replaced if blued, Kel-Tec will usually swap slides if exchanged in the first two week after sale.
