Hi All,

I recently purchased a P-32. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but am planning on going tonight. So far I really love the way this gun feels to carry (belt clip style). I had a Ruger LCP which I didn't carry, and hated shooting. I purchased a Taurus Curve about a month ago for CC. It's a nicer gun to shoot than the Ruger, but it's about 15.5oz loaded and much bulkier than I like.

As they say "the best carry gun is the gun you will carry.." I feel like I may actually carry this.

I was only able to find one brand of .32ammo yesterday, which was the Aguila 71G.

I'm looking to find the lightest ammo available (hey every ounce counts when carrying). I assume the lower the grain the lighter the bullet but was wondering if anyone can weigh and provide some number for other FMJ brands.

The Aguila 71G is .3oz/bullet. With 7 rounds in the mag, it's a total weight of 3oz. Total gun weight loaded 9.9oz. My scale only shows to the tenth.

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: I will be adding a stainless steel guide rod, and the clip today, which will probably add a few ounces overall so I will have to weigh again.

If you want to keep it lightweight. ..the metal guide rod isn't needed at all. It doesn't add anything usefull to your pistol except weight. It can actually cause damage and wear. Skip it.

My 2 cents are that the difference in weight of any different 8 rounds of .32 will be minimal. 1 ounce is ~438 grains so if the max variation between rounds is even as high as 40 grains (a big number in this case) you're looking at a total of ~0.7 ounces with 8 rounds loaded.

and that may not even add up as the powder would be different.

common jhp are 60 grains.

10 grains * 8 is 80 grains difference total. that is 0.13 oz difference. The ammo isn't the place to look for weight to save.

Lehigh Defense makes a 50g self defense bullet. The Underwood loadings look quite promising for self defense but you will pay a bit for them.

I wouldn't use any jhp in 32acp, they are less reliable and less effective for self defense.

Do some push-ups. The difference in bullet weight as compared to weapon weight is, or should be, negligible. You have a light weight gun in small caliber with light weight bullets. If you need less than that, hit them with a feather! If less than on ounce will make a difference to you, I don't know what to say. Have a nice day :)

:p 9 rounds of 44M can weigh around 1/2 a pound if you go for the heavy stuff.

Don't forget the weight added for the flyer wire or whatever else might be needed if the lighter round OAL is shorter.

Yeah, I would call this "increasing the effort after having lost sight of the goal".

Even the difference between 73g and 50g won't be very noticeable. You might be able to tell with the magazines in your hand but not when carrying.

If you stick with fmj Fiocchi and S&B would be my suggestions but there is nothing wrong with sticking with what you have found reliable.

A few questions before you scrap this Diamond-
Did u buy a gen 1 or 2? Did u buy new?
Did u Fluff & Buff? Or break in Did u shoot 200+ rounds?
Did u try REM or PMC ammo.
I have two p32's that I bought in the last six months and I've had two friends purchase p32 and not a single FTE or FTF in over a combined thousand+ rounds between the four guns using 71 grain round nose Remington or PMC ammo.
Good luck with your decision and agree you have to be totally 100% confident in your concealed carry gun I get it.

Brand new in 12/2016, I assume Gen 2. Mostly having FTEs when rapid firing. I can comfortably say it's probably me, limp wristing here and there, but at the end of the day this is the only gun that I think I will actually carry due to the size. Going to pick up a 13lb recoil spring and stainless steel guide rod see if that helps a bit. More FTEs when using the 10rd mag.
