I employ a KSG as my primary Home Defense weapon. For HD, a light is accessory #1. I've been running a Streamlight TLR-1 HL with a remote momentary on/off switch for about 18 months now. With it mounted I've put about 500 rounds through the KSG. so far so good.Is a light on the KSG a good idea? If yes, what will you use and how will you mount it? If no, why is it a bad idea to use a light?
I have a 45 degree off-set rail mount I can put on the KSG rail and use for mounting the light.

If I was new to the platform, I would hold off on the Tiger tank muzzle brakes and lasers and invest in a good light. Cheap lights tend to fail with the heavier 12 gauge recoil.
Thanks. Interested to learn about your experience with that mount.View attachment 48382 View attachment 48384 View attachment 48386 View attachment 48388 View attachment 48390
The light mount is relatively new. It is from Midwest Industries and has been solid through around 100 rounds (all full power, Buck/Slug).
Watch out for parasitic draw. Finally got my light setup on the KSG, using the Hitech mini side rail and the Inforce WML. Inspired by Vigilance247 and his setup. To avoid the worry of smashing my thumb on the side rail, I am using the Magpul vertical grip (which I had installed before the light) in conjunction with the Magpul XTM hand stop.
